T-Series has removed Atif Aslam's version of the song Kinna Sona from the YouTube after the hashtag #TakeDownAtifAslamSong started trending on Twitter in India.
The track was a neighborhood of 2019's action drama Marjaavaan starring Tara Sutaria and Sidharth Malhotra.
The music label has since then issued an apology for not complying with the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) which has banned artists from Pakistan from working across the border.
In the statement released, they acknowledged the move as an error on their part.
"It has been delivered to our notice that the said song has been sung by Atif Aslam and this song was put abreast of the YouTube channel of T-Series by one among our employees from the promotion team. He was unaware of his action and erred while putting up the song," they shared.
They also ensured the audience that they're going to not be releasing or promoting any artists from Pakistan within the near future.
"We condemn our mistake and apologise for an equivalent . We assure you that henceforth we'll neither release, nor promote the song on any platform of T-Series. Meanwhile, we are removing the said song from our YouTube channel. We also assure you that henceforth we'll not be releasing or promoting work by any Pakistani artists."
Atif Aslam Website is an initiative taken to collect all the materials (concerts, videos, songs, photos) related to Atif Aslam.
